Merrimack Valley Hospital
Wound Care Center Recognized
for Healing Wounds and Changing Lives
Merrimack Valley Hospital physicians, leaders, and clinicians gathered today to celebrate the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Center of Excellence Award, which was given to Merrimack Valley Hospital’s Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center for exceeding healing and quality benchmarks for the second year in a row.
The Center has achieved patient satisfaction rates over 92%, a 91% healing rate, and median day healing rate of less than 30 days.
The Center was awarded this prestigious honor by Diversified Clinical Services (DCS), Inc., the nation's leading wound care management company.
The Wound Care Center is a member of the DCS Clinical Network of over 333 centers, with access to benchmarking data and experience treating over two million chronic wounds. In Merrimack Valley Hospital’s Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center, hundreds of patients were provided specialized treatment, often preventing amputations and helping patients return to active lives.
Michael Collins, CEO of the hospital, commented on the award, “DCS brings our hospital's Wound Care Center enormous resources and expertise, enabling us to meet the increasing need for specialized wound care. We are thrilled to accept this award, and proud to offer this quality Center to our community."
The Center’s medical director, Walter Kwass, MD, said, “It’s a privilege to be part of a great collaborative effort between the hospital and DCS. Together, we are able to heal patients in our community, getting them get back to living happy, healthy lives.”
